Buy the right watering can

When buying a watering can, make sure you think through your intended uses of the can.
- Indoor use
- Balcony
- Outdoor gardening
- Decoration
This will decide which can to look for, the balance and sturdiness needed, and the price to expect.
Tips for choosing the right watering can
Cans for gardening
General garden use requires typically a 10 liter watering can. A well functioning 'rose' is also conventient for watering garden plants.
Decorative watering cans
Many people place a nice looking watering can in their garden or on the balcony, just as decoration. They are also sometimes used as pots for plants.
Indoor watering cans
0.5-1 liter containers will do well for household plants. Make sure you buy a can that is easily stored, unless you want to place it visible for decoration. There's nothing more annoying than a can that takes up way too much space in the hosehold cupboard.
Balcony
A balcony watering can is useful, since a watering hose ususally don't go to the balcony. We advise to not undersize the balcony watering can, since it can be quite convenient to be able to water several days without having to go through the flat to refill the can. Just make sure you have a water tap that the can fits under. And that you don't have too many hanging plants where you have to lift your heavy can to water.
